The show build went from five hours to one click

Behind the scenes, but it changes the night itself.

The KTL Show does not stream from the website. Every film is downloaded first, so a bad connection in the room can never take the show down. Alongside them, every filmmaker needs a name card and a credits card.

In Season 4 that was 60+ films pulled down by hand, links copied one at a time, then the name and credits cards built in Photoshop from a spreadsheet. Four to five hours of it, every week, before anyone had watched anything.

That is now one click and about a minute of actual attention.

The whole folder comes out ready: name card, film, walk-on if you have one, credits card, in that order, named so it all drops into ProPresenter in a single drag. The running order is pulled straight from the site, so it matches what the roll decided rather than being retyped.

The cards are not rebuilt in Photoshop any more. They are the real couch-mode slides, screenshotted at 4K. Which means the card behind you at the show is the same card the site draws, and if a credit gets fixed on your film the fix comes through with it.

Two things worth knowing on your end:

Your credits are what appear on the card. If yours are thin or missing, that is what goes on screen behind your film. Your KTL Films in the dashboard is where to fix that, and now is the time rather than the day of.

Walk-ons play between your film and your credits, if you have one attached. Twelve seconds.

Nothing about submitting changes. This is entirely on the production side, and it means the hours that used to go into downloading and rendering go somewhere better.
