Added
- Your Credits — a new tab in your dashboard. Every credit anybody has ever given you, on one page, in a grid built for working through two hundred rows rather than admiring each one.
- Three sections. KTL films, credited by other directors comes first and starts open, because how other people credited you is the part worth checking. Other work — dice videos, music videos, shorts, anything that is not a weekly film — is next. Your own films sits at the bottom and starts closed: those are credits you wrote about yourself, and they are not going to surprise you.
- A film you hold more than one credit on is a single line. Click it and every credit on that film opens, each one editable on its own.
- Filter by film or role. Needs a description narrows the list to films where at least one credit has nothing written in it, and the button carries the count, so it tells you whether it is worth pressing before you press it.
- View ↗ on every line opens the film in a new tab — worth checking what you actually did on something before you write it down.
The three things you can do to a credit
- Credited as — write in how you were really credited. Camera can be B-Cam, Drone Op, Cinematographer. Actor can be Lead, Narrator, or the character’s name. Crew can be Gaffer, Grip, Sound, Makeup. The box shows suggestions for that role in grey while it is empty; solid text with a dot means somebody has actually filled it in, whether that was you or the director. It saves when you click away.
- Hide from portfolio lists — keeps the credit and keeps your score. All it does is stop that film appearing in the credit lists on your profile. It is a checkbox, and you can put it back.
- Remove — takes your name off the film for good, and it comes off your score with it. This one asks first, because it edits somebody else’s film.
You can also add a role to any film you are already credited on. If you shot it and cut it and only one of those got written down, put the other one in yourself. That does count towards your score.
Changed
- The Quick Editor edits credits in place now. Open the Credits badge on a row and you can search for a member, pick a role, describe it and take a credit off, without being pushed into the full editor. Crediting somebody who has no account still needs the full editor.
- The leaderboard opens with the whole site in one line: 626 directors have made 4,504 KTL films, giving 7,449 credits — 3,129 Actor, 1,202 Camera, 1,019 EP, 805 Post, 666 Crew, 628 Writer.
- Films with nothing to show have a thumbnail instead of an empty grey box: FILM NOT UPLOADED where no video has been attached yet, PRIVATE FILM where the director has hidden it. Your own private films still show you their artwork — the placeholder is what everybody else sees. They turn up in the Quick Editor, in Your Credits, and on your scorecard.
- Old credit records on every film were rewritten into the format the site uses now, and rows with no name and no role were dropped. Repeated roles were deliberately left alone: two Actor credits on one film with different character names is a real thing, so only exact repeats were merged.
Fixed
- Music attached through the Quick Editor saves again. A song whose title contained a quotation mark was being thrown away silently while the editor still told you it had saved — so if you added music in the last week and it did not stick, that is why, and it will stick now. The same fault was in the submit form.
The map gets filters, and stops hiding films behind each other
Added
- The film map has filters. It opens on KTL films only; one button brings in other work — dice videos, music videos, shorts. Two more split precise locations from zip code areas, and there is a row of genres.
- Every filter button carries its own count, so you can see what it will do before you press it. Genres are the thin one: only 100 of the 1,465 films on the map have a genre yet, so picking one hides most of them. That number goes up as people tag their films — the Genres badge in the Quick Editor is the quick way to do it.
- The forums now mark which channels have posts you have not read, with a count on each one. The number next to Forums in your dashboard already told you there was something new; now the page it opens tells you where. The marks stay until you actually read the topics rather than clearing the moment you glance at the list.
Changed
- Home (temp) opens with This week at the top instead of Notifications — it is the only card with a deadline on it. If you have already dragged your cards into an order you like, nothing moves; this is only the starting layout.
- The zip code box now refuses anything that is not a postal code. Typing a venue or a city name there looked like it saved, and then the film never appeared on the map — that is where a lot of the missing pins came from. Postal codes with letters in them still work, so members outside the US are fine. For a venue or a city, use Filming locations instead: the map plots those exactly, by name.
Fixed
- Films were hiding behind each other on the map. Every film in a zip code was being pinned to the identical spot, so up to 85 of them could sit under one thumbnail and look like a single film had been shot there. Pins are now scattered properly within their area — 691 films came out from underneath each other.
- A zip code added anywhere except the full editor never reached the map. It saved, it showed on the film page, and the map never heard about it. 134 films were sitting on the site with a location that had never been plotted. They are all on the map now, along with 33 more whose location had been typed in as a place name.
- Songs, locations and content warnings with an accent, a dash or a quotation mark in them were being mangled when saved. Fixed, and the six records that had already been damaged are repaired — including a Tchaikovsky title that had lost its entire Russian.
