A run of work on the dashboard, the forums and the leaderboard.
Added
- Cast/Crew Calls sit on your home page, next to this week’s prompt, so you see who needs people without going looking. Filter by role, and click a single role to isolate just those calls. Your home page.
- A page for people who have never heard of us: what Kick The Ladder is, what The KTL Show is, and how a week works. Useful for sending to someone you are trying to drag into making one. What is Kick The Ladder?
Changed
- Your dashboard opens on Home now, out of trial, with a layout everyone starts from: This week, Cast/Crew Calls, Notifications, Your Scorecard, Recent comments and Messages.
- “Looking for Crew” is now Cast/Crew Calls. Actors were always part of it and the old name did not say so.
- Posting a cast/crew call now needs one directed KTL film behind you. Answering one still needs nothing at all. Asking people to give up an evening is a bigger ask than a comment, so it sits behind the same door that unlocks commenting. Cast/Crew Calls.
- Calls from past weeks retire on their own at 11:48 PM, moving to Past requests and no longer showing as unread.
- Forum pages keep the dashboard sidebar, so you are not thrown out of the dashboard every time you open a topic.
- Support, Site Updates, Coming Soon and How to Make a KTL Film no longer carry unread badges. They are reference, not conversation, and a permanent dot next to them meant nothing.
Fixed
- The leaderboard was leaving people out. Accounts nobody has claimed yet were excluded, which quietly removed Brett Schultz with 25 films directed and Gina Polce with 20. Whether you have logged in has nothing to do with what you made. 16 of the top 100 were missing. Leaderboard.
- Switching off every role but one hid the calls asking for that role. Leave only Camera on and the card said there was nothing left, while a call for a camera op sat right there under Show all.
- Filming location search can find businesses now, so a studio, a bar or a coffee shop can be credited as a location instead of only a street address.
- The KTL mark is back on the browser tab.
