An Atlanta film calendar

An Atlanta film calendar

One place to find out what is happening.

/calendar/ is up. A month grid, or a list of what is coming — the weekly prompt, KTL meetups, and the shows, screenings and gigs that people around here are actually playing.

Putting your own thing on it

Made it on Partiful or Eventbrite? Paste the link and the rest fills itself in — date, time, venue, address, the poster, the description. The link stays pointed at where you made it, so people RSVP where you set it up rather than on a copy of your listing. Nothing to paste, or it lives nowhere but a group chat? Type it in.

It also reads whether an event takes RSVPs and whether seating is limited, straight off the listing, so RSVP REQUIRED and LIMITED — 40 SEATS turn up without anyone typing them in.

Adding events is a member feature, and everything is checked before it appears.

    Click a day

A summary opens — when, where, what it is, and who added it, so an event put up by somebody you know reads like it. Outside events link straight out to wherever tickets or RSVPs live.

The week that is still open shows this week’s prompt: the rule, the deadline, the countdown and the submit button. You can go from looking at the calendar to making the film without stopping anywhere in between.

Weekly Prompt, not The KTL Show

The site has rolled a prompt every Monday for months. The Show itself has not put on a night since April. Those weeks are now labelled Weekly Prompt with their rule code, because filing them as Show nights claimed a screening that never happened. Real show nights — Leg Day, the Film Festival, KTL 4 Fun — keep their own names.

    Subscribe once

Apple, Google, or an .ics file. Every approved event lands in your own calendar from then on.

A meetup at your place stays yours

Host a meetup and it is unlisted: not on the public calendar, and neither is your address. The page works exactly the same — send the link to whoever you want there and they can sign up. Practising in your living room is the point right now. Public listing is coming as a host feature.

    It is not finished

The calendar is still being cleaned up, and there are test events loaded on it while that happens — so if something on there looks wrong, or looks like it should not be there at all, that is probably why. Tell us anyway.
