There are some things that I would love to share with people who know what KTL is and what it’s trying to do.If you became a member and don’t really know much about Kick The Ladder. We really appreciate your support thus far. The current state of filmmaking is in a weird transitional period. With AI, industry fluctuations and so many other things. We think the new wave of filmmaking will come from hobbyist and people who practice on a regular basis. The goal of Kick The Ladder is to make the art of expressing yourself through filmmaking accessible to everyone, not just the very few people who’ve been selected by the film industry. Filmmaking is generally expensive and is riddled with gatekeepers at all levels.Whether you have a small idea you want to explore through film or a big idea, there are many ways the industry has made nearly every step of that process of making a film and bringing it to a live audience to be an expensive task. Kick The Ladder is the only film program that has succeeded in allowing anyone to explore filmmaking and show their work to a live audience, even if they’re not pursuing it as a career or lifelong goal. Every medium of art has a place for hobbyist to explore, except for film. Through Kick The Ladder, there have been over 3,500 films made, 200+ first time filmmakers and even a prisoner has made a film through Kick The Ladder. This is mainly all written as a test to see that membership is working, but hoping to add lots of features. Making a KTL Film will always be free, having a basic membership on the site to upload the films, comment, etc will also always be free. With subscribing members, you are helping the development of a program we really believe in and have seen it change a lot of lives. Thanks again for supporting at this stage of development, it means so much. -Isaac Deitz
